Today ended the 1st week of the Cooperative Economy with a suggestive caption: the future is collaborative. And surely it will be if we look at the gifts that gives us our beloved individualistic economy.
's economic and business involves, among other things for greater ethical commitment to the impact (in terms cooperative surplus) that generates economic activity in people, the environment, society and the organization itself. What is now known worldwide as corporate social responsibility, a term taken over by initiatives (individualistic, or otherwise) of corporations . Tonight
Martina Marcet ( Arç Intercooperació ) told us interco an interesting initiative to raise awareness of corporate responsibility and other members of the Xarxa d'Economia Solidària : the Social Balance .
This instrument submitted to the organizations themselves to valuation its structure and activity to reflect his honesty and active commitment to society. This initiative aims break the invisibility of the exercise of social responsibility that have traditionally exercised cooperatives, worker-owned companies, partnerships, companies push ... Although this is an open tool for use by other organizations wishing to apply a Social Balance.
From the perspective of gender, one of the interesting facts of the Social Report 2008 is that for every 10 men in the bodies of these organizations are 7 women who take their own positions. Parity does not occur, even remotely, in the Regular business network. Another relevant fact is that the average distance between the lowest salary and the highest in these organizations is from 1 to 1.6!
Maybe we could start taking a tissue sample of economic, social economy, which since has long questioned the benefits of individual economies.
