female leadership talent and "deep fad or revolution?

This has been one of the years most have heard of female leadership talent and ... but talk about it is it just a fad or are we at a time of social change, political and economic crucial?

In general, those who speak of the benefits of female talent and leadership in economic and business Avogado to promote large-scale expansion,
however there is no single way to understand it, to depart from the traditional female-male dichotomy, nor to address their development in organizations.

The Observatory Dona, Empresa i Economia the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce developed a conference in July on new values \u200b\u200bfor corporate governance in a changing world , and invited, inter alia, women such Tomasdottir Halla (Auður CEO of Capital, Icelandic bank inversions) and Elín Sigfúsdóttir (former director general of New Landsbanki, Iceland's National Bank), to discuss the role of women in and global economic order.

Also the Chamber presented the results of 2008 study on the economic impact loss female talent, a loss that occurs mainly because a large bag of highly trained women are taking jobs below their capabilities (and therefore low remuneration, do not forget!), accompanied by a small but constant drain of women from paid work to unpaid work.

For its part the University Pompeu Fabra in September organized the conference "Life " where the emphasis was on the ability of women to overcome their fears, their faults, their complexes, and women become strategic that can make the best system and established rules ... but not touching the ground up. It, again, Alfons Cornella we insisted that women mean business that our talent is not only valuable (in economic-utilitarian terms: profitability, competitiveness, investment, cost control .. .) but necessary for companies and organizations for current times and run and that we have the possibility of a quiet revolution from below by choosing (buying, working for) only those organizations that respond to our concerns.

One wonders if these organizations and companies are not receptive to such talent as valuable, perhaps it is because the power is already occupied by men? This approach is outlined in Quan manen them gifts, an excellent article on what styles of TV3 develop women leadership when they have the power. Not miss the description that make it the exercise it already ...

Typically women we compare with the male model of management and leadership and, therefore, or we are branded as "soft" (too feminine?) Or we labeled as "hard" ("little female?), and in which is it! ... We are never in the right place. Catalyst , American organization that continuously analyzes the impact of gender on the economy, calls this "Double-Bind Dilemma." This organization also exposes why men need to incorporate a different view of reality, including (without utilitarianism) women: Engaging Men in Gender Initiatives: What Change Agents Need To Know (May 2009).

I do agree that all persons and organizations that promote reflection on these issues, is that talent and leadership of men, en su expresión más depredadora y egocéntrica no sólo no funciona en la economía y en la empresa, sino que además nos lleva a la ruina.

Messages To Write For A Baby In A Baby Book

current challenges, we outperformed

Este miércoles salían a la luz los datos sobre el mercado de trabajo (publicados por el Boletín Labor Statistics) and I went to look directly at the data on women's self-employment ... Interest could it be?

The macroeconomic environment is favorable for anyone , but it seems that self-employment is resisting the onslaught survival despite the many times we developed the business people who work on their own: December 2008 to June 2009 has been reduced by 4.5% the number of affiliations RETA (1) .

What has happened to women? In the past 10 years have increased 44% the number of women who have chosen to work on their own (the homes have increased by 24%); on today represent 33% (the highest proportion of the last decade), among women, have only declined by 2.4% to RETA affiliations , (while in men the reduction was 5.5%).

'll see how today's challenges condition initiatives self-employment. According to a survey by the Independent Labour Observatory, made between 12 and 22 January 2009 a total of 1,173 people self (361 women and 812 men) from around the state, the main views of the sector are:

- 89% of people thought autonomous crisis affects them.

- Only 34% have reduced their workforce and one in every four self-employed persons need to hire new staff, but it will do, primarily for economic reasons.

- E l
62.4% consider that their business is bad mainly because of falling sales (third party claims a drop of over 31% over the previous year).

- 75% think that the English economy will get worse and 85% that will make their household economy.

Despite this, early indicators show that women entrepreneurs
better resist all these difficulties and do not abandon our efforts. It would be interesting to know what's behind this call forward and what learning can extract the global economy.

(1) People itself autonomous and integrated trading companies, cooperatives or other corporate entities or family helpers.

women in social economy and the future is collaborative

The Social Economy consists of a diverse set of business entities and associations that are characterized by doing business in a participative, supportive and special responsibility. These entities are represented especially cooperatives, worker-owned companies, companies for integration, social welfare mutual, special employment centers ...

In Catalonia, there a network of companies and organizations work together to make visible the economic alternative: the solidarity economy xarxa d'.

What about women? Do we have any role in it? Do we have capacity to generate economic alternatives to predatory hegemony? It seems that yes, women make up over 40% of the employed population. But, as in other economic and business fields, it is necessary to enhance the visibility and recognition of women, which is why there are organizations such as l to Women Entrepreneurs Association of Cooperatives (AMECOOP) or Association of Women Entrepreneurs Industrial Societies (Amesal) . You recently created Women's Business Federation for Social Economics (FEMP) arising from the union of the two previous women's business associations more Women of the World Confederation of Rural (Ceres) with the aim of bringing together and be stronger for women entrepreneurs of the Social Economy.

De hear about it, much in the coming years, since the legal framework favor English over the bet of 20 million people across Espanya.

Regal Kitchen Plus Breadmaker

Today ended the 1st week of the Cooperative Economy with a suggestive caption: the future is collaborative. And surely it will be if we look at the gifts that gives us our beloved individualistic economy.

's economic and business involves, among other things for greater ethical commitment to the impact (in terms cooperative surplus) that generates economic activity in people, the environment, society and the organization itself. What is now known worldwide as corporate social responsibility, a term taken over by
initiatives (individualistic, or otherwise) of corporations . Tonight

Martina Marcet ( Arç Intercooperació ) told us interco an interesting initiative to raise awareness of corporate responsibility and other members of the Xarxa d'Economia Solidària : the Social Balance .

This instrument submitted to the organizations themselves to valuation its structure and activity to reflect his honesty and active commitment to society. This initiative aims break the invisibility of the exercise of social responsibility that have traditionally exercised cooperatives, worker-owned companies, partnerships, companies push ... Although this is an open tool for use by other organizations wishing to apply a Social Balance.

From the perspective of gender, one of the interesting facts of the Social Report 2008 is that for every 10 men in the bodies of these organizations are 7 women who take their own positions. Parity does not occur, even remotely, in the Regular business network. Another relevant fact is that the average distance between the lowest salary and the highest in these organizations is from 1 to 1.6!

Maybe we could start taking a tissue sample of economic, social economy, which since has long questioned the benefits of individual economies.

I Like To Sit On The Belly Of My Slave

Sanchis and communication ima

seven p.m. Wednesday, Cristina Salvador has organized one of its "Taste comunicació" of Contributed , in which shares each month, so generous, his connections with the world communication. This afternoon talk Ima Sanchis and despite all trips and agendas triples, I would not miss: this will be a luxury! ... and so it proved.

Ima on presentations for m iddle
country should read at least a couple of times a week: "The Counter" I know my coffee, even when they do not take it, po rque that piece of paper you about the inner world of people, I still know close to cloying.

She speaks honestly, gently, with the calm of one who knows herself and knows who have done "what gave me the win" and have struggled to have
CERL. The thirty people who listened to what we do with all the senses, as we note that, for her, the interviews are conversations, bits of life (yours and who are listening) that you get the most and that you meet, especially with sincerity and without a pre-trial.

We read phrases authentic captivating people, tells of people (many of them women) shocking, shows us his profession, and the person inviting us to open ourselves to ourselves: "inside look scary sometimes and has always tend to make a flight forward.

En However odd this community does not lend itself to send messages other than "hope" for humanity.

I give sincere thanks to Cristina and Ima, has been an hour and a half extremely generous and pleasant
. I'm leaving directly to another party with another record, but taste (and I do it for a few days) the flood of emotions that this tiny woman has sent me.

Recycled Crafts Yogurt Containers

days of inspiration encouraging entrepreneurial women

Today the end "Entrepreneur Day" organized by Barcelona Activa, one of the reference events in Spain (for the hearth, its content and depth) of promoting entrepreneurship . As you can guess, I'm not really agree with your title, or with the very low presence of women in the platforms (16 of 77, if I have not discounted), but with its approach and impact.

I wonder if the statistics of the organization listed few women and few men attended this event (5557 in total in 2008 and up the figures annually), because either we are on par or even might lead the pleasant surprise that more women than men attending seminars, workshops, meetings, etc. and this has been noticed in the tail of accreditations at the meeting point (managed effectively by Rosaura Alastruey , good professional and expert in network management) or in the lecture rooms full of people, full of women.

This year another interesting novelty of the event, space has been devoted to networks: to make known some of the networking platforms of enterprising people more active in the city. This dresser shows that social networks are a key element for generating business in the economic area there are great (and sound) and employers' organizations
business, but that there a whole underworld of more or less formal contacts arising from and for entrepreneurs, and have a direct impact on their business.

So to do a little self a question: Why were not present any networks of women entrepreneurs, businesswomen
, professionals, policy ...? We should consider, perhaps, if in the next issue we want to have active presence, give public voice, leave our underworld and exercise that cost us so much, visible, and what speaks wisely Neus Arqués .

Of all the papers to which I attended this year (too few, by the way) I'm certainly with the least and most content quorum was breaking the traditional standards of entrepreneurship: innovation and social entrepreneurship. I will continue to recommend that you take into account the work of Ashoka , who rightly taught us María Calvo, the director in Spain, or that may know some of the social entrepreneurs of our country (some with direct support of Ashoka) Roser Batlle, Beatriz Fadón , Isabel Guirao, Viki Bernardet, Teresa Benet, María Entrecanales ...

Today we could get up close to Raul Contreras of IUNA , and Jean Claude Rodríguez-Ferrera , promoter of community self which, incidentally, some groups of women entrepreneurs already acted on practice.

really are people that stir the audience with his desire to change the reality that surrounds us, a reality that we sometimes see and do not like, sometimes we look carefully and moves us and, rarely, observe, analyze and wonder what I can do I change this? The social entrepreneurs and by always putting the wave frequency and, if they listen, at least you feel inspired and infected .

How to connect your abilities for autonomy, communication, your self-esteem and, why not your power ?

Last Friday I had the pleasure of participating in a session Horses and Natural Leadership Victoria Baras and Edgar Guerrero, two people with knowledge depth of his work and the potential personal and professional development that each person can experience.

The truth is that after passing the first barrier of fear, uncertainty, feeling like a huge and beautiful animal (or more!) communicate with you, follow your guide , gives you the power or the domination of space ... the truth is it's great. Is a unique experience that lets you know yourself, because the horse you back, with his behavior, a clear reflection of how you're behaving, whether you (or not) present, whether you're genuine, consistent, build trust on other people or you deal well with authority.

is really a beautiful experience .

Baitbus Waiting For The Bus

natural leadership from across the world disenchanted professionals

Last Tuesday I stopped in my devious agenda and I had the great pleasure of listening to Cristobal Colon (La Fageda), and in particular to Pamela Hartigan , director Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship University of Oxford, and coauthor of The Power of Unreasonable People (published in Castilian with a title shocking: "The power of madness. Profitable companies that change the world ). This is a apostulado decided, thorough and extremely encouraging about the power of changing people who develop social innovation ( The Institute for Social Innovation at ESADE organized).

So I got a fit of irrazonalidad and the following afternoon I bought the book now read from Niger
... yeah, yeah Niger: a huge country and dry that I have the privilege of coming to work with women who struggle daily for a better life. Being here you away from the frantic pace unreasonable (the other) and you add (with heat) in a state of calm and gratitude for having the opportunities we have in Europe, having the opportunity to learn (and unlearn) forms of understanding life.

Niger is one of the world's poorest countries, ranked 174 out of 177 in Human Development Index conducted annually by the United Nations Program for Development (UNDP), life expectancy is 45 years, over 70% of the adult population read or write and 60% of the population survives on less than a dollar a day. Ethos indicators are always worse for women in Niger living under extreme conditions, yet many of them hold much of the country's survival, especially in rural areas.

In January Newspaper publishing, according to Unicef, one of every seven women in Niger dies while trying to be a mother
, "The little or no education for women, the lack of controls Prenatal and malnutrition are the circumstances surrounding these high-risk pregnancies, they move parallel to the fate of their babies: 86% of babies who die at birth suffered pneumonia or systemic infection. Newborns whose mothers die in the first six weeks of life are much more likely to die immediately that children retain their mother. "And this, unfortunately, is only one button.

But I have met entrepreneurs Niger innovative and have an impact on the social development of the country that deserve to be recognized, among them an organization is admirable
MECREF (Mutuelle d'Epargne et de Crédit des Femmes) , which since its creation in 1998 has benefited 34,043 women (!) with micro-management by a total of EUR 1,358,553 (!!). Irazonables women really are impressive.

Top Currencies To Invest In

Alfons Cornella gave us this Monday March 2, a huge battery of related information sources with ten key ideas in the field of social innovation . One of them had to do with us and what we reflect in this blog: "there are more women in management of organigaciones is not a gender issue but a business "and here we are recommending the study prepared in 2007 Why Women Mean Business .

But beyond the recommendations utilitarian (is that a hear what they want to hear ...), Alfons Cornella pushed us (as is commanded in innovation) evade traditional thinking and ask, for example, why there is a clear egalitarian Correlation between women and men, and increased fertility rates, or why many women in Spain with potential for upward career leave and we choose to have a familiar maternal role.

Although we have already talked about it earlier, I insist:
remember that the study of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce L'impact of female talent Perdue (Cabinet d'Estudis Economics Gener 2008 ), in Catalonia year some 52,000 women with university degrees left work for reasons mostly family members. This figure is almost three times the number of men who stop working in the same circumstances, some 19,000. The economic impact of this neglect led to female in 2006, a loss of "977 million euros, ie 0.5% of Catalan GDP that year. (3-24 Channel video ).

So we strive to form (we are the best-educated generation of women academics in the history of Spain) and finding a job that meets our expectations, but after a short (or both) step by business, declined the offer: ummm ... not, as hinted Alfons Cornella, maybe we should wear us down and make little effort by / in some organizations sartisfacen we do not? "Many of the companies in which we started our careers (not our work) are not meritocratic if Strategy peacock?

Mercè Sala Schnorkowski cited (in his book Charm Piper ) Maria Benjumea, CEO of Circle of Progress, in an interview to La Vanguardia (04/03/2005) as follows: " Women are not valued as much as men development and professional success, because they know they get to the top involves a dedicaciópn absolute - all hours of the world, and not always believe that this may be offset by the success of the profession ".

Do we sound?

Why Women Go Bottomless

female talent, talent, opening the way women humanist

Marta Romo appeals, in his book "The Woman leader. Female talent in the company. a new form of corporate governance ", to now more than ever, we need references of people, especially women, to send in his life: " Women entrepreneurs, women who decide to have children while continuing their career women who choose to leave their work to educate their children, women who decide to resume his career at age forty, and so on. "and while" there is no need to leave home to realize that in general are increasingly women who decide to take the reins. "

Marta Romo gives us a closer contact with nine extraordinary women professionally and personally, that shine to develop, according to the author, one of the nine key female talent:

* leadership-sense-sensibility
* listen-empathy
* Ability to work -humanism

*
optimism overcoming
* beauty, versatility
courage
* mother *

innovation intuition

* joy
force-balance-flexibility
*

A set intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligences unresponsive to the classic pattern of intellectual talent and academic
(single and not multiple or different) , as our beloved RAE talent is related to intelligence (and ability to understand) and fitness ( and ability to perform or exercise of an occupation). Although (the) female talent has been specially developed for women over the centuries, has not been evaluated or should be exclusive of them but of humanity: according to the author "This is the time of female talent. "

Marta Romo develop this pool of talent in depth, with huge numbers of references, data, examples and reflections. Just for this and see how the nine women she has chosen are maximizing their talents, worth reading!

Can You Wash Nylon Duffel Bags

If you make your way through the center and raisins (not noticed) the entry of the Barcelona Espai Cultural Caja Madrid, I recommend that you miss some time between walls. This space provides a beautiful exhibition, "Women's open roads."

A sample of 99
beautiful (a sometimes harrowing) photographs that, according to the organizer "is intended to highlight the critical importance of contemporary women, their strength as an alternative, along with other ambitious and committed purpose: to cover the entire planet in all cultures reflecting the different ways of living Today, the various lines of progress, with the common denominator of the feminine. "

really worth watching these 99 women mostly anonymous, and some of them famous fruit of projects leading to a better world. Give us an opportunity until 31 March.

But the work social is not satisfied with a photographic exhibition and invites us, encourages us to participate in a large number of musical activities, opportunities for reflection, urban routes, days of broadcasting, audio-visual ... a patchwork of oriented formats to speak publicly about the many ways we opened the women in this world.

how to change the world''health''of female entrepreneurship

Last November 2008 in Barcelona presented the results of the study GEM (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor ) which measures, among other issues, the entrepreneurial activity rate (0 to 42 months of project life business) in a territory. The study is applied annually in 60 countries and in Spain in 17 regions and 2 autonomous cities (Ceuta , and Melilla). The study finds that in Spain a entrepreneurial activity rate is 2 points above the European average.

The presentation will summarize the main results obtained for Catalunya and offered interesting facts about the differences between men and women entrepreneurs:

Can You Get Herpes In You Nose

After a long period of abstinence have become technology to recharge batteries and commitment to follow forward, to share insights. So here I go. Yesterday I attended a
agora , yes the name is beautiful and exudes the spirit of democracy. There was talk of how women form networks, if we do and why. I had the pleasure of listening to Alastruey Rosaura, director and specialist in netwoking ProyectosTIC; also Marisa Soleto, president of Women Foundation, and Montserrat Boix, a staunch and tireless defender of the right communication.

pushed us to all these (women managers and entrepreneurs) to be aware of the digital divide between women and men: the technologies we use less and differently. I also encouraged her to try and select those technological and communication tools that serve us, we promote women as professionals and to enable us to Connect with others, with others, to all.
De Rosa
I prefer the definition that it makes networking "the art of building and maintaining long-term personal RELATIONS involving a joint benefit for all parties."

De Marisa retain a suggestion adequately reflect why and what we technological tools and, from there, juicing!

De Montserrat appreciate your sincerity and applaud his cyberfeminism : I hope all had the same awareness of the importance of networks and opportunities "The network has to offer.

So that's why I write again today to retrieve the bug that this woman put in my one day, share your knowledge.
