Yesterday kind of Music Teaching the film "Kung Fu Panda" for students (who are training to be teachers) and I can reflect on the teaching role.
Before seeing the film I asked students in their notebooks or folders to go scoring phrases relevant characteristics of teachers and students, attitudes of teachers and students as the movie progressed.
After the screening, we conducted a sharing of what we all had seemed as relevant and were very interesting insights and interpretations that produced each one student.
For example, we reflect on the importance of believing in the capabilities that the other has to learn, constant stigmatization that exists in schools today, the prejudgment of the teacher, the teacher's capacity for change, the search for new methodologies to teach to a different student, the teacher's obsession with control, believing in oneself as a teacher or student, the teacher who believes in the student while the student who believes in the teacher, the teacher's humility when he accepts that know the answer to the question raised by the student, persevering and willing attitude to the fact student learning, among others.
As you can see there are multiple lessons we can draw from this famous film and allow us to see so clearly the importance of believing in the capabilities of others and support towards achieving the objectives as teachers impose.
What do you think the analysis that we perform? What other lessons I left this movie?
