What about movies in class? AMADEUS!
over a year ago shared with you. a list music-related films to consider and enjoy some time ... Today
advanced a step further and invite you to think about what activities could develop from the projection of some of these films in music class. I'm starting
. propose working with AMADEUS (1984) by Milos Forman.
First, it is important to consider who are the partners of the class. In my case, working with adolescents try to always keep in mind that part of the generation Multiscreen and what I call the "culture of zapping." So before you show the film, warning that some scenes are too long for what we are used in movies today.
may take several classes to see the movie. However, the projection group is interesting for the comments that students can perform. It is recommended to stop the projection at any time for clarification, questions, comments, insights, etc.
After seeing the film: find the biography of Mozart and compared with that presented in the film. Propose some questions for comparison:
- What was the relationship between Mozart and Salieri?
- Mozart was as shown in the movie? What features are exaggerated Mozart? What, though they seem ridiculed, were true?
- How Mozart established his relationship with his future wife? How many children did you have?
- What killed Mozart? What are the assumptions that are known about it? What is the version shown in the film?
And now ... Making music! A musical that can be performed with different melodies of Mozart .. I did with the famous melody of the nocturnal serenade SMALL and the not so famous melody of the aria "I am the birdman" belonging to "The Magic Flute."
Steps:
1) Teach the melody and sing it with the student group.
2) Interpret the melody with instruments.
3) As a group create a letter to the tune learned .. condition: text created should refer to Mozart, his life and his work. WELL we strengthen content approached from the field. This activity requires constant intervention of the teacher to guide the process of creating the text that is consistent with the rhythm of the melody proposal.
4) After the text prepared and rehearsed the song ... we can implement it with different elements or percussion instruments.
5) In addition, we can invent an introduction to the melody.
6) Test the elaborate musical production as a group.
7) filmed or recorded for later listening and appreciation of our product.
Anyone you think of anything more to enrich this proposal?
